Operate as a Warden
$320 + GST per person
The aim of this course is to provide participants the knowledge required to carry out the Warden and Area Warden roles in their workplace.
This course is structured in accordance with Australian Standards: Planning for emergencies in facilities (AS 3745), Planning for Emergencies – Health Care Facilities (AS 4083) and the General Fire Regulations (where applicable).
Successful participants will receive a certificate of Completion from the Tasmania Fire Service.
Topics covered:
- The Wardens role and responsibilities
- WHS requirements and current legislation
- Evacuation and assembly priorities and procedures
- Responding to different emergencies
- Liaising with emergency services
- Strategies in emergency prevention management
- Identifying the correct fire extinguishers and suppression equipment
Refresher training
While there is no mandatory requirement to undertake this training at prescribed intervals, it is recommended that participants reattend to update and refresh their knowledge.
The following are factors to consider when deciding if you should re-attend a Chief Warden course:
- How long ago did you complete Chief Warden training?
- Do you recall the roles and responsibilities of a Chief Warden?
- Have you changed worksites or have there been significant changes to the worksite?
- Have there been any changes in regulations that you should be aware of regarding the Chief Warden role?
Participants are encouraged to re-attend the full course to keep their knowledge and skills current. We do not offer a refresher version of this course.
